I am a teacher of movement, a hands-on therapist and a Forest Bathing Practitioner, plus a regular human being with aches and pains just like the next person.
In my movement career I am a Level 4 Body Control Pilates certified teacher, an Advanced FAMO Fascia Movement Teacher, a Garuda Matwork Teacher, a Level 1 Animal Flow Instructor and a Hypopressive Trainer. I am also a Level 4 Strength & Conditioning Coach plus a Level 4 Strength & Conditioning Olympic Weightlifiting for Athletes Coach.
My movement classes are a blend of the principles of Pilates and my other training. I believe this gives the body an even better workout and has helped me to manage my back problems far better since incorporating how the bodies fascial tissue influences how we move. I also take inspiration from the many other courses I have attended over the years, since my initial Pilates matwork training.
I have a continual passion for learning and have been lucky enough to learn from some of the best; both in Pilates, in fully body movement, and in the understanding of fascial research and the body as a tensegrity structure. My learning comes from workshops, conferences and lectures I have attended, along with the never-ending reference books that I read. I have even attended a hands-on full body dissection, which enabled me to see and understand the body first hand from the most superficial to the deepest parts within us and to understand just how interconnected we are.
This passion for learning and wanting to help clients with their movement challenges led me train with Jan Trewartha in Fascial Unwinding and Energy Awareness and to become a Sharon Wheeler Scarwork Therapist. Not all of the bodies restrictions can be resolved through movement alone, so being able to offer my clients hands-on therapy as well can assist when movement is sometimes not enough.
I am also a qualified as a Level 3 Aromatherapist and as an Oncology Massage Therapist which brings the nurturing and caring touch to those affected by Cancer. I also hold a Hearthmath certification.
More recently I have qualified as a Forest Bathing Level 1 Practitioner and hold an Outdoor First Aid certificate. The Forest Bathing blends my love of the outdoors with wellbeing practices and blends in with some of my other training modalities as well as offering a deeper connection to nature as well as to the self.
I love how all that I have trained in compliments each other and means that I can offer a greater variety within sessions but this also means I can target a session more specifically to what the client needs.

“When I first met Andrea Lawson at The Centre for Complementary Medicine in Petersfield, I was immediately inspired; not just by the extensive knowledge she has of her own and related disciplines but her passion for empowering others to help themselves. That resonated with me. Keen to move forward in my own rehabilitation journey, I approached her for treatment in fascial unwinding; a treatment I felt would help my body reorganise itself and start to function more freely. I was not disappointed. After only one session, where Andrea carried out a comprehensive assessment before treating me, I found I was moving differently; more naturally and less consciously. I did experience some initial discomfort as my body adjusted and realigned but these aches and pains receded and I felt correspondingly more confident. Keen to build on these improvements, I have chosen to do some one-to-one movement/ Pilates sessions with Andrea to avoid reverting to the unhelpful patterns resulting from years of injury. They show me that I still have a long way to go but crucially I have renewed hope that things can only get better. For me, that hope is priceless. Thank you Andrea for your part in this journey”
