“To touch the surface is to stir the depths”
I love this quote from Deane Juhan and after 3 full on days on Susan Findlay’s Oncology Massage Course these words just kept running through my head on my walk this evening.
We have been taught some wonderful skills to support clients on their journey and bring a sense of relaxation and overall wellbeing to both body and mind.
These skills are perfect for anyone to benefit from and although has a lighter approach doesn’t mean it doesn’t have depth to it.
Here’s some of the feedback I had from one of my clients that I worked on this weekend:
“I felt totally nurtured bodily, mentally and physically. It was a safe space to enjoy just being cared for. The pressure with both hands and the different balls was perfect. I could feel the tissue responding to its stimulation in a far different and better way than any other type of massage I’ve experienced before. I particularly loved the balls. I could feel very quickly my nervous system quietening down. I feel so much better generally and have experienced quality sleep. A truly wonderful overall experience. Thanku so much.”
In due course I will be looking to offer this unique approach to clients wishing to benefit in similar ways.
